busses i know

#10: my dream bus. takes me right from my apartment all the way downtown. i can get off at westlake and go right on down to the bus tunnel, get on any bus, and i go right to work. the other fabulous thing about the #10 is that it takes a left on 1st ave and goes all the way to the ferry terminal for when i go over to bainbridge.

#60: i used to take the #60 to work up in the pacmed building on beacon hill. this is the craziest route i've ever been on. it starts on broadway, turns down madison and winds its way through the hospital district on 1st hill. this means that it's usually packed with injured/insane folks. then it goes through seattle's "projects" and stops at 12th and jackson, smack-dab in the international district. this is where all the tiny, old asian ladies get on or off. i've never ridden it past beacon hill, but i know it goes to georgetown and white center, which i'm sure gets even more insane.

#7: the standard. goes from the u-district to capitol hill, down broadway, then down pine to downtown. i think it turns up jackson and proceeds down rainier, but i've never gone that far. the #7 is always sticky/dirty.

#43: another u-district bus. i prefer this route to the #7. it goes down the back of capitol hill through the pretty part and over the montlake bridge. mmmm. i can also take this one downtown from home, since it crosses 15th. sometimes i stand at the corner of 15th and john so i can see which one comes first: the #43 or the #10.

#8: i rarely take this one, but when i need to it's so convenient. follows a similar route to the #43, but it turns down denny instead of going downtown and takes you right to queen anne. queen anne stinks in general, but when you're going to a sonics game or something, nothing beats this bus. in fact, i rode it last night.

#14: this bus freaks me out. it goes to capitol hill from downtown (and vice versa), which is all well and good, but it turn down summit! hey! summit is where all the shops that end up going out of business are.

#11: another capitol hill bus, but i don't usually take it because it turns off of pine when it goes downtown. sometimes i'll catch it just to get a lift up the hill, though.

#16: i've taken this one out to wallingford before. it's boring.

#15/#18: i lump these two together in my mind. i would take either of them to work when i lived on queen anne for that one month. they're very clean.

#2 express: this is a super-bus. it goes from queen anne to downtown (like the #15/18), but it's non-stop. yow!

#36: this one goes from beacon hill downtown. sometimes i take this from my office up to pacmed instead of waiting around for the work shuttle. i think people deal crack on this bus.
