beeline, my ass // 2002-03-11

at last, i went out to bastyr to see the school and to hear about the acupuncture program for their prospective students day. yay! one more small step for me. it's crazy, all these things that i'm scared of. they seem so huge, but they're really just simple. i ran into aruna, which was great. i haven't seen her in years. if she enrolls in the herbal healing program, i'm sure i'll see her all the time. and dr. wang, my acupuncturist, was there, and she recognized me. of course, i felt special that i knew one of the professors.

i feel so hell-bent on going there. waiting one more year to apply seems almost intolerable. or maybe what seems intolerable is working here. it's not so bad anymore, but knowing that there's so much more waiting for me elsewhere, it's hard to take all this seriously.

otherwise, yesterday was all about lounging. woke up at 9:00. c went out and got bagels and even brought me coffee. (is there anything better than being brought coffee in bed?) we sprawled out on the couch with the ny times. after two hours or so of that, i took a little nap on c's lap. double dreamy. woke up and lounged some more. scrabble ensued, accompanied by tea and little chocolate chip cookies. and then we went to see a fabulous movie, monsoon wedding, at the harvard exit (go see now!). we were so inspired, we went to taste of india for some frigging awesome indian food and chai. i'm in a naan and curry-induced coma today just thinking about it.

boring scrabble update: i got my ass kicked hard this weekend. after c came up with "beeline", playing all his letters and scoring 50 extra points, i knew it was all over. gah!
