autism, cows, chem final, flip-flops // 2002-06-13

last night c and i lay in bed and he told me about this woman who is autistic, but she's a professor of agriculture somewhere in the midwest. she's really into cows, and knows a lot about them and feels like she identifies with them somehow. she'll go out into a pasture and just lay there to be with the cows. she's also really into how cows feel comforted by having something pressing into their sides--there's this device they use at meat processing plants (that i think she invented) to pacify the cattle that encloses them on their sides. so, this autistic agriculture professor also invented this device that does the same thing for humans. and i think that's cool. c and talked about how nice it is to have someone lay on top of you, so i got on top of him and tried it out. not in a sexy way, just in a laying there kind of way. (okay, maybe it was a little sexy.) but it felt so nice.

also this morning i got up at 6am and took my chemistry final and got my period in the middle of the three hour exam. of course.

p.s. i'm wearing my pink flip-flops at work today. at work!
