the wind in my town is a thin milky color // 2002-07-18

sadly, when you're sick with a cold, the last think you want to do is jump into a chlorinated pool. so swimming this morning was a nice return to working out.

by the time i make it to the pool, all the serious swimmers have come and gone, so it's just me and old asian ladies. (the one i like to call Frog Kicker smiled at me in recognition this morning.) when we're done with our laps, we all convene in the locker room. they spend extra time in the hot tub and gossip in cantonese. i don't understand them, but that's okay. they like to blow dry their hair with the hand dryer even though there are plenty of hair dryers.

if you're ever in the women's locker room at the downtown seattle ymca around 9:30 in the morning, come find me. i'm the tall one.

p.s. i've been licking my hand all day and sniffing it because it smells like chlorine all over again. dreamy.
