what i'd really like to do right now is take a nap // 2002-08-23

last night i had drinks with my old pal and former boss, julie. i hadn't seen julie since new year's, last year. since then, julie has bought a house and gotten engaged. she told me about another friend of mine, becky, who is talking with her boyfriend, chisholm (yes, that's his real name and it sure is funny), about getting engaged this fall.

i realized two things over drinks with julie:

1. i get drunk fast now that i don't drink so much (1/2 a vodka gimlet had me slurring words).
2. i have been left behind by my friends. they're all out getting married, and i can barely feed my own cat.

not like i feel bad about either of those things, or anything.

when i got home last night, and after the drunk wore off, i took a long bath with some tintin, dr. hauschka sage oil, and paper lanters, and then i finally boxed up that little package for someone sweet that i've been promising for a long time. you know who you are!
