last night was stephanie's birthday party (c's best friend) and so he wrote her a song for her birthday and sang it at the party. it's the first non-electronica song he's written (see his website for his band, the sodas, to read about his fantastic cd), and it was sweet and lovely and the best thing a friend could give another friend. he was worried that it wouldn't turn out and that people wouldn't like it, but he had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. it was so touching it made stephanie cry, and it was so funny he had to stop singing a few times so people could laugh. gosh, he's sweet.

now i'm going to gush for a moment: he's also super smart, and wrote this little program called the movie pitch game. go check it out now!

and tonight, me, c, and stephanie went to see singin' in the rain at the cinerama, in its new 70mm print. godamn, now that's a good movie. i was choked up the whole time. the dancing, the singing, the acting, the plot--it's all pure brilliance.
