and i'm still tired // 2003-01-05

c's birthday party...

c blowing out the candles on the coconut cupcakes i made.

party people enjoying the comfort and beauty of c's new sofa.

near the end of the night i put on my new party dress and everyone took pictures of me.

c sitting back and enjoying the party and looking quite dashing.

a few lessons i learned from the party:

• take a little more time to prepare (people arrived at 8 and i was in the kitchen until at least 10:30 making food).
• leave some time to take a shower and change before the party.
• don't have such grandiose plans (trying to hand roll vietnamese spring rolls probably wasn't the best idea).
• put more rum in the cider.
• coconut sprays everywhere when candles are being blown out.

the next party is seriously going to rock. really.

c just gawked at that last sentence. obviously the party was wonderful and a success, but it seems that i'm a perfectionist. so i will makes amends and say that i can only hope that the next party is as good as this one. and i do mean that.
