interesting species // 2003-03-10

all elementary school-style, i'm supposed to do a report for my bio class on an "interesting species". c recommended i do it on octopi, since they're all smart and can open jars with their tentacles. but after thinking about it for a while i'm going to pass on that one, since octopi freak the shit out of me. one of my many, many fears is getting eaten by an octopus (though i don't even know, really, if they eat humans).

please recommend an interesting species to me so i have something to write this freaking report on. i can be anything: plant, animal, fungi, bacteria, archaea, whatever. if i choose the species you recommended, i'll send you a super special prize. for reals!
