little dribbler // 2003-04-23

last night c and i went to see the mariners play the indians. c posted some pretty pictures that we took. i learned some fancy new baseball terminology:

little dribbler: when a ball slowly makes it's way down a baseline and the fielder can't tell if it's in or if it will be a foul ball (jeff cirillo, i think, hit one of these last night, and the poor indian third baseman just had to stand there watching it slowly make it's way down the third base line before it pooted up at third base and was a fair ball, while cirillo made it to first base). i've decided this is what i'll call my kids. e.g. "hey, you little dribbler, wipe up that drool and sit up straight!"

walk off home run: when a homerun is hit that wins the game. mike cameron hit one last night (a grand slam, in fact) to win the game for the mariners.

c and i ate veggie hot dogs and garden burgers at the health hut, and then got one of those delicious chocolate malted ice cream cups with the little wooden spoon later in the game. baseball food is the best.

it was country music night last night, so all the at-bat music was obnoxious, not to mention the 'tween inning country music, and the country-themed jumbotron videos. c and i are looking forward to these upcoming special music nights:
