espress yourself! // 2003-06-03

last night i chopped up watermelon and threw it in a blender with some limeade. i then poured the juice into my popsicle mold and deposited it in the freezer. these ones are bound to be better than the vanilla soy pudding pops i tried to make last year. let's just say it was a very unfortunate experiment.

on the drive back up from portland with my mom and c this weekend, we decided to stop for coffee. my mom's a coffee snob, so of course i insisted we stop at some local coffee shop in vancouver, wa just so i could get her all riled up. and we found the perfect one: it was a combo espresso shop/tanning salon called "espress yourself!". the decor inside was so beyond perfect, that c said i should take a panorama shot of the whole place. once i was done, the woman behind the counter said, "excuse me, but why are you taking pictures?" i told her it was just for fun. she then got all pissy and told me that i can't take pictures inside a salon and that i should stop it immediately. it was a very pecker-esque moment.

driving away, sipping on my soy chai, i determined that it tasted exactly like suntan lotion.
