price and prejudice and kolaches // 2003-08-20

today i went for a great run and then spent the afternoon working on a freelance assignment and baking something out of the tassajara bread book. i made some kolaches, these crazy czech pastries that required lots of kneading and rising and tender care. anika came over tonight for queer eye, and we ate the kolaches with pineapple gin kirs. sugar mouth.

you see, i'm well on my way to achieving my summer goals.

i'm currently reading pride and prejudice, and i think i'd like to only read jane austen novels from now on. who would believe it took me 29 years to "discover" jane austen? and after i'm done i'd like have a jane austen marathon and see all the movie adaptations in one day.

um, i'm still a little drunk from the fancy drinks.
