update:

to relieve the tedium of this afternoon, i put on my old trina turk party dress* and applied some lipstick to go downstairs and check the mail. there was nothing in the box, but i think i'll just wear the dress for the rest of the afternoon.

i've also been reading through c's old weblog. i wish he would update again. he's much better at me at documenting actual events of the day, plus the photos are fabulous. have you read it? if not, then do. and tell me if you think i looked better with long hair, because suddenly i regret cutting it all off.

*i got the idea for the party dress from our friend anika who just wrote an entire book over the three day weekend. she's amazing, and the book is quite good. she said she dressed up in party dresses while cooped up in her apartment writing feverishly for those three days. i can totally understand that.

*********************************************

geez, it's september already and it's nearly 90 degrees. where the fuck is fall? i vowed not to leave the apartment today, but i'm wondering now if it's hotter in here than outside. at least i can blame the heat for my lack of initiative and totally slothful demeanor. it's after 3 pm and i'm still in my pajamas. and what have i done? i've watched two episodes of law and order, one episode of changing rooms, finished reading the last few issues of black hole, finished another tin tin, consumed one pot of tea (and am now working my way through a second pot), and stared at my ibook screen for the last half an hour trying to muster up the energy to work on this long overdue freelance assignment.

i wish school started sooner so had something meaningful to do. three more weeks until orientation, and half a week after that school begins. i bought some adorable school supplies at kinokuniya last night: a pink polka dot eraser that matches a little notebook i already have, some pink colored flags for marking pages in my text books, and a tiny pair of orange scissors that will fit nicely in my pencil case.

arno met me at kinokuniya and we had a lovely evening even though the events weren't all that. we tried to go to the crazy tea house in ballard with the maccha/sake smoothies, but it was closed, and then we went to a screening of dickie roberts. yeah yeah, you don't need me to tell you it sucked. but the best part? it was up at the friggin' oak tree theaters on aurora. man, that place smelled nasty. incest mystery house all around.

but arno, i'm glad you liked your uncle gabby. i hope the sticky brain made gar-gar squeal.
