just thinking. if i had money right now, these are things i would buy...

• this knitting organizer is so pretty and so handy. but couldn't i make that myself?
• i'm still obsessing over this baking class. seriously, i might just scrounge up some money and pay for this, it looks like so much fun.
• i think i'm finally ready for an ipod. but i'd get some crazy cool huge headphones for it instead of those little earbuds that give me a headache.
• i'd probably pay someone right now to finish writing the paper for my history of medicine class that's due on monday. i start writing and then five minutes later i get distracted and start doing something else. ugh. anyone know anything about the plague of athens or about zhang zhong jing (who wrote the shang han za bing lun)?

last night i had a hankering for some autumnal food, so made a gratin dauphinoise in hopes that i could nudge fall along a little faster. i've never made gratin before so i think it could have been better, though it was still tasty and warmed my insides. and this morning i rifled through the cupboards and found enough stuff to make some blueberry muffins with one minor substitution. for some reason, i just can't stop eating.

now that we've cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom and set out many, many of these traps most of the fruit flies have been disposed of or were sent flying away in fear. however, there are a few stragglers who have now moved to the bathroom in what appears to be a desperate measure. hey guys, i don't know what you think you're going to find there, but i don't think it'll be fruit. we put another trap in there, and like the fools that they are, they all flew in and can't get out. ha ha! who's the smart one now, huh?
