red carpet! // 2005-05-23

these are the three most interesting things that have happened to me lately:

1. today, before i had to be at the clinic for an appointment, i decided to go the barnes and noble at u-village to browse through cookbooks and magazines (it's a comfort thing). i spotted my old pal AJ's book party drinks!, which i've been meaning to get since it came out, but never got around to it. so, as i was paging through the book while in the store, i spotted the drink that AJ and i came up with together a couple of years ago: the red carpet! and in the book, he mentions my story about me wanting a drink for an oscar party and how this turned out just right and so on... i had no idea that me and my drink had been immortalized in his book forever and ever. i'm really quite giddy over this. not to mention, the book is being sold all over the place and is even featured in crate and barrel stores around the country. i know i'm biased, but the book is really great if you like cocktails as much as i do, i heartily recommend it.

2. saturday afternoon i went to see my friend angie from school compete in this bodybuilding competition. like a fool i forgot to bring a camera because, seriously, how often does one get a chance to watch beefy, icky, no-neck guys and super jacked-up women flex all over a stage to AC/DC, Fifty Cent, and the like? i'm happy to say that angie did awesome, and got second place overall. yay!

3. i know i said three things, but now i seriously can't remember what that third thing was. perhaps i meant to write about how sick i am of school and of my classmates? and how i've been having fantasies about a giant roll of duct tape and a baseball bat? and not in a good way? not like i would act on these violent fantasies, but it's almost satisfying just imaging the harm i could inflict on these horrible, obnoxious, know-it-all people.
