shot through the heart, and you're to blame // 2002-09-24

some very important things i learned while traveling:

  • when i'm tired, hungry, or stressed out, i turn into a 4 year-old child. no kidding. it's a miracle that c still likes me, after i totally flipped out in the middle of bruges (really, i was standing in the street screaming and on the verge of crying).
  • in german, keine means "none" and kleine means "small". this is especially important when trying to express that you're vegetarian while ordering a meal. e.g. the difference between "i eat no meat" vs. "i eat small meat" is monumental.
  • being mistaken for a french woman is cool. however, it's not cool when someone is watching you play scrabble, and assumes you're french only because they think that english couldn't possibly be your first language.
and two other fabulous things of note:
  • i just got pink tennis balls in the mail. pink! now i just need a tennis skirt to go with them.
  • when i returned from vacation, there were two handmade postcards from ms. tess in my mailbox. she's the bestest.
